WAWEL NEWS

WHAT’S GOING ON WITH WAWEL

As we celebrate 15 wonderful years of Dance Group Wawel, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us together and shaped us into the vibrant, passionate community we are today. Formed in 2010, our journey has been one of growth, dedication, and love for Polish folk dance. From our humble beginnings, we’ve grown not just in numbers, but in the depth of our shared experiences, and we are so grateful for every moment.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of performing and sharing our culture across many places—whether traveling to Seattle, New York, Poland, or performing proudly here at home in Texas. Each performance, each trip, has deepened our connection to each other and to the beautiful traditions we hold dear. The friendships we’ve built, the stories we’ve told through dance, and the joy we’ve experienced together are priceless treasures we’ll carry with us forever.

And yet, we know our journey is far from over. As we look ahead to the future, we are more excited than ever to continue our growth as artists, dancers, and as a family. The passion that first brought us together continues to fuel us, and we are committed to sharing the beauty of Polish folk dance with even more people in the years to come.

Thank you to everyone—past and present—who has been part of this incredible adventure. Your support, hard work, and love for the craft have made everything possible. Here’s to the next 15 years, and beyond, filled with more memories, more growth, and more dance!

Congrats Mini Wawel!

Congratulations to Mini Wawel for attending Swieto Dzieci Gor in Nowy Sacz 2023.

THANK YOU!

Ladies and Gentleman, we would like to inform you that our parish dance troupes Wawel and Mini Wawel recieved funding from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister as part of the Polonia and Poles Abroad 2021 competition.

Thanks to the support received, we were able to purchase new Lubelskie and Łowicki folk costumes for the young dancers. The costumes were made personally by Mr. Jarosław Wygański, the owner of the Polskie Stroje Ludowe w Polsce company. Soon you will be able to admire them in full splendor at the performances and shows organized by our troupes!

We are extremely grateful for the funding and support received, which will certainly contribute to the wider promotion of Polish Culture in Texas and beyond.
